Our Story
“Chigozirim” Christopher Alexander Chukwueke was born and raised in the US. He is the eldest great-grandson of Chukwueke Uzoigwe, who was the patriarch of the Umuosisi clan of Nigeria and first Obi (King) of Ovim, in what is now considered the Isuikwuato Local Government. Thereby rendering his clansmen of royal birthright.
In his late twenties, Chris was challenged to read the ingredients on his lotion bottle to see how many he could pronounce, let alone recognize. The number was painfully small. It was then that he settled on the fact that since our skin absorbs what we apply, we shouldn’t put anything ON our bodies that we’re not comfortable being IN our bodies.
In 2017, Christopher traveled to Isuikwuato for the first time. While there he was exposed to the different oils, herbs and butters that people from his clan, and the greater Isuikwuato region, use to care for their skin. It was then that the idea of Isu Body Butter was born.
Since that trip, Christopher has perfected the mixture and creation of Isu Body Butter ensuring it maintains the integrity and benefits of its rich ingredients for all who use it.
